Irene Pons is a Florida-licensed attorney with years of experience in family law, legal education, and media. She founded IreneTheLawyer to do something the legal world doesn't always do well: explain things clearly, meet people where they are, and make the law actually useful.
As a university professor, Irene has spent years teaching law students how to think — not just what to memorize. That same practical, human-centered approach shapes everything she does at IreneTheLawyer, from lawyer coaching to divorce education workshops.
She's also a certified family mediator, which means she understands that legal disputes — especially family ones — are rarely just about the law. They're about people trying to move forward under difficult circumstances. That perspective informs her coaching and her educational work.
And yes, she's a four-time Suncoast Regional Emmy Award winner. Because apparently you can be a serious lawyer and still know how to tell a compelling story.
How Irene teaches
Teaching philosophy
The law is complicated. Learning it doesn't have to be. Irene's approach is built on one idea: that people make better decisions when they actually understand their options. Whether she's coaching a lawyer through a career transition or helping someone understand a Florida divorce form, the goal is the same — clarity, confidence, and forward momentum.
Practical over theoretical — real tools for real situations
Human-centered — people first, paperwork second
Accessible — no jargon, no gatekeeping
Honest — about what education can and can't do
